Backyard Theatre

Watchet’s newest venue, The Backyard Theatre opened in 2024. A 90 seat theatre built by Neil and Cath, it hosts many of our events over Words in Watchet, from the Adult Storytelling on Friday evening to our closing event on Sunday evening.
Whereas most of our seating for the festival elsewhere is not allocated, seats in the theatre are allocated.
The Backyard Theatre is tucked away behind The Radio Museum in Anchor Street.
Access is mainly flat, with slightly stepped seating in the theatre. There is a small theatre bar.
Toilets are available down two steps near the entrance.
