Words in Watchet 2027

Friday 19th - Sunday 21st February 2027

Come along to our fourth Words in Watchet Festival. We have been planning some delights for you:

Friday night Storytelling, now an established festival favourite, we bring you Lucy Lill and Sarah Liisa Wilkinson telling The Queen of Between, a story of the many-shaped and multi-tasking goddess, Hecate.

Enjoy a plethora of award winning and Sunday Times best selling authors including: Meg Clothier, Tom Cox, Philip Gross, Milli Hill, Wyl Menmuir.

For non-fiction aficionados the weekend offers: Charles Dowding of ‘No Dig’ gardening fame, Graham Harvey of 'The Archers' Matthew Myerscough fossil hunter, Michael Turner expert on Sir Francis Drake.

Plenty of 'Who dunnits' with Stephanie Austin, Chris Ewan, Tina Orr Munro, Lionel Ward or solve your own crime with Jo Middleton.

Our Saturday evening Spoken Word event mixes multi-instrumentalist Seb Tesouro putting music to poems of the Quantocks with prose from Aidan Meighan and Watchet’s own storyteller Deanna Payne. 

Graeme Ryan curates an exciting weekend of poetry at Xanadu

Workshops for budding writers including 'Writing Nature' with Elizabeth Delo and poetry with Jan Martin.
