David Musgrove Content director of HistoryExtra

David is co-author of The Story of the Bayeaux Tapestry: Unravelling the Norman Conquest together with Michael Lewis, Curator of the Bayeaux Tapestry Exhibition at the British Museum.

At Words in Watchet, David answers the questions: The Bayeaux Tapestry - Who made it, and when, why, where and what for?

He sets the events depicted in the context of the machinations on either side of the English Channel in the years leading up to the Norman Conquest and teases out what the Tapestry tells us of the deeds of kings as well as aspects of everyday life in medieval Europe.
